● Sacem's Hervé Dugardin prize. ● Beginning of a collaboration with the writer Thomas Brando for the conception and creation of a number of works to come. ● Created, with Thomas Brando's assistance, Suite en trois mouvements, acousmatique work commissioned by the GRM. ● Start of the construction of a private mobile system of sound projection for concert (acousmonium).

● Founded the series of concerts Acore in Lyon where, until 1995, more than 300 works of composition students and guest artists were premiered. ● In May, commissioned by Radio France for Désir-Hiver for female choir, premiered under the direction of Guy Reibel. ● Was entited a CA (certificat d'aptitude, a professional diploma in teaching) of electroacoustic music. ● Chooses the name Acousmatic Art to describe the creations resulting from a studio realization fixed on audio support and delivered to listening on loudspeakers, opening these practices beyond the only musical ground.

● Commissioned by the French government for Le Lis vert, acousmatic work premiered in March at the Espace de projection in the Ircam. ● Composed for the play Friday, Freedom Day, from Hugo Claus, the eponymous work from which he drew Suite bleue concert piece premiered in Berlin in February 1984. ● Composed Six mélodies for soprano and piano on texts by Jean-Christophe Thomas premiered in Lyon in 1985. 

● Permanent member of the Sacem. ● The Trio GRM Plus has additional musicians join them and becomes the instrumental electroacoustic ensemble TM+. ● Created the acousmatic composers' collective Quark with Jean-François Minjard. ● Settles in Crest (in the Drôme region in France) where he instals and develops his composition studio where he composed almost all of his electroacoustic works. ● Begins the work cycle Le Plaisir des chants difficiles with Non parmi les anges, commissioned by the Berlioz festival for soprano and string trio. ● During the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC), Ourlé du lac (Pli de perversion /2) for violin, synthesizer and real-time digital transformation system is premiered in Paris, marking the pioneering application of the Syter (SYstème Temps Réel) in concert. ● On this occasion, he develop with Jean-François Allouis of the GRM a graphical interface for direct control that gives musicians the ability to visualize the sound and to modify several parameters simultaneously and simply: this is the interpolation screen (snapshot) which allows to memorize the state of all the parameters of the system and to be able to pass rapidly from one configuration to another by jumps or by progressive evolution.

● Incorporates the teaching of instrumental composition in his class at the CNR of Lyon. ● Works for diverse chamber ensembles: Froncement des yeux, Fantaisie soluble, Pistolet d'or.

● Commission for the ballet Exactement le contraire by the Michel Hallet-Eghayan company for a premier in March in Lyon. ● Other acousmatic commissions: Psaume d'Adam, Messe à l'usage des enfants based on texts by Thomas Brando. Tandem oblique for flute and piano.

● Composition of Messe à l'usage des vieillards, a four channel work based on a text by Thomas Brando. ● Nuit d'hiver for instrumental ensemble premiered in Lyon in April under the direction of Mark Foster. ● Quits his core activities at the TM+, after which it was directed by Laurent Cuniot. ● In charge of a major work in analysis and graphic notation for around ten acousmatic works of French and foreign composers at the Ina-GRM. He makes the first notations of this sort on his personal computer (MSX) that preceeded the GRM's future software entitled acousmographe.

L'Homme au masque de craie for mezzo soprano and orchestre, Grenouille écarlate for guitar, premiered in China by Pierre Laniau. ● Moirures éteintes de la galaxie (Pli de perversion /5) for seven instruments premiered in December by the TM+ ensemble. ● Douze mélodies acousmatiques, commissioned by GRM premiered in June at the French Radio.

● Organised Rencontres de Crest, seminars on acousmatic art (with J.-F. Minjard, M. Chion, F. Dhomont…) which took place until 1994 in his house in Crest. ● Commission by the French government for Notre besoin de consolation est impossible à rassasier based on a text by Stig Dagerman recited by Thomas Brando, premiered at GRM's acousmatic concert cycle at the French radio in January. ● Tu sa' ch'i' so for soprano, clarinet and string trio on Michel-Ange's sonnets, premiered at the French radio in December.

1989

Hérisson cathédrale for piano, celesta, harpsichord and instrumental ensemble premiered in Paris in June by the Ensemble Forum under the direction of Mark Foster (commissioned by the French Radio). ● Chanson pensive for seven instruments premiered at the Pompidou Centre by the ensemble 2E2M directed by Pascal Rophé.
