Between 1992 and 1996, Denis Dufour directed artistic practice workshops with music class students at Revesz Long Secondary School in Crest (Drôme). Où est maintenant la forêt? is a result of this interaction, from texts written and recited by children on the theme of human rights. A minimalist piece where the voices are transformed, sometimes degraded by the digital tools, giving the text a lyrical as well as a fragile aspect. The abstract sounds, often added in alternation, sometimes in counterpoint, evoke carelessness and naivety but also a faraway threat of countries torn apart by war, misery and suffering.
