Live Dufour & Tara at REM in Bremen [16.04.2016]
REM Festival [16 April 2016 in Bremen]
‘Mixed Doubles’ · with Denis Dufour, composer
Saturday 16 April at 8 pm, New Hall 14€, 9€ reduced, 3€ Bremen Pass
For ›Mixed Doubles‹, REM (Rapid Ear Movement) brings 2x2 composers together, who until then have never had anything to do with each other. Each duo faces the challenge of jointly developing a piece lasting max. 45 minutes from a distance, completing it in the days prior to the concert, and then performing it in Bremen. The Swiss veteran of experimental electronics and cofounder of the legendary ›Voicecrack‹ duo, Norbert Möslang, encounters the Japanese composer Yunja Oikawa, currently a guest stipend recipient at the ZKM in Karlsruhe. The double consists of the Swiss composer and contrabassist Dragos Tara and the Frenchman Denis Dufour, a pioneer in the field of acousmatic music. Manipulated everyday objects meet the beat of a snare drum, the interest in game theory meets music without a visible sound source
Concert presented by pgnm/REM - Rapid Ear Movement in cooperation with Schwankhalle Bremen in the frame of jazzahead! Festival
